The highest-ranked recruit -- No. 33 according to Scout.com -- Adrian Amos, a cornerback out of Calvert Hall College in Baltimore, MD, also paid visits to UConn and West Virginia. He had verbally committed to Connecticut, until head coach Randy Edsall departed for Maryland after the Fiesta Bowl.
Who was the big recruit that the Lions allowed to slip away?
A five-star defensive end from Brooklyn, Ishaq Williams, secured his intent with Notre Dame over Penn State. Of course all wasn't a loss as the Nittany Lions did sign four other big prospects: Donovan Smith, an offensive lineman from Maryland; Angelo Magiro, an offensive lineman from New Jersey; Deion Barnes, a defensive end from Philadelphia, and Anthony Zettel, a defensive lineman from Michigan.
